Allen has made a conscious effort to ensure that the appropriate services are available to meet the needs of residents. The Allen Chamber of Commerce provides a variety of programs for large and small businesses that enhance the local business climate.

It is the mission of the Allen Chamber of Commerce to promote and support Allen’s business community through programs that encourage economic growth, educational excellence and legislative advocacy.

In concert with the City of Allen, the Allen Economic Development Corporation and the Allen ISD, the Chamber encourages the retention and growth of the commercial tax base, provides promotional and networking opportunities for the business community, addresses the very diverse interests of the Chamber membership through committee and task force participation, ensures continued representation on legislative issues and acts as the City’s official visitor information center.

Member representatives may participate in several committees sponsored by the Chamber:

The Human Resource group is open to all HR professionals from Allen’s major employers. The meetings are designed to provide a networking/support group setting for the discussion of employment issues and for the presentation of information of interest to the profession. The group meets on the second Tuesday in the months of February, May, August and November.

Facilities Managers group meets on the third Monday of the following months: March, June, September and December unless otherwise noted on the Chamber calendar. The group is made up of individuals employed by Allen’s major corporations, the City and School District, whose responsibilities are the management and daily operations of their facilities.

The Emergency Preparedness Network is designed to provide a venue for the dissemination of information about emergency procedures for our major employers, the Allen ISD and the City of Allen. The EPN meets regularly with representatives from Allen’s Fire & Police Departments. Regularly scheduled meetings are held on the first Tuesday during the months of February, May, August and November.

The Business Education & Marketing Task Force meets at the Allen Chamber quarterly or more frequently if needed.

The Business Advocacy Committee was formed to provide a strong and respected voice for Allen’s business community. Members of this committee are part of a team that studies national and state business agendas, surveys local business opinions and develops Chamber policy. The Governmental Affairs Committee meets on a bi-monthly basis.

Ambassador Club (Membership) members participate in new member welcoming activities, retention and recruitment efforts and act as the official greeters for the Chamber networking opportunities. Ambassador Club members receive exposure to business contacts through participation in membership networking events, ribbon cuttings and groundbreaking and grand opening ceremonies. The Ambassador Club meets monthly immediately following Tuesday Morning Live!
