Harry Whalen, President & CEO

Whalen has worked in all aspects of economic development for more than 38 years. Whalen earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Advertising Design from the University of South Carolina in addition to taking graduate studies in journalism. He is also a 1979 graduate of the Industrial Development Institute at the University of Oklahoma. He retains membership in the International Economic Development Council and the Southern Economic Developers Association. (April 2012 - Present)

 

Dan Bowman - Vice President

Mr. Bowman is an Allen native and a graduate of Trinity University in San Antonio. He is also a graduate of Leadership Allen Class XVII and an ex officio member of the Leadership Allen Steering Committee through the Allen Chamber of Commerce. Bowman is a Past President and current member of the Allen Kiwanis Club. He recently received his MBA Degree from the University of Texas at Dallas and completed training through the Economic Development Institute at the University of Oklahoma.  Recognition in Top 40 under 40 and serves on the Board of Directors for the Southwest Chapter of CoreNet.   (May 2004 - Present)
 

John Scriven - Economic Development Specialist

Scriven possesses a diverse background across several industries including technology, education, and construction. He spent most
of his career, about 20 years, with HP Services (formerly EDS). His experience includes telecommunications, business & financial analysis, network engineering, and facilities management. Scriven graduated from Tennessee Temple University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education and holds a lifetime teaching certification with the State of Texas.  (February 2012 - Present)
 

Tracey Cline – Senior Administrative Assistant

Tracey’s passion for people and willingness to do whatever it takes keeps the AEDC office humming! She previously worked at YUM Brands, where she won Customer Maniac of the Year award. Prior to Yum Brands, she worked for Brinker International, Perot Systems and the FDIC for over 10 years where she won numerous STAR awards and served as the Special Events Chair. Tracey's involvement in the Allen community resulted in her receiving the 2009 Spirit of Allen / Citizen of the Year Award. (February 2007 - Present)
